Selena Gomez has finally spoken out regarding the controversy surrounding her “Emilia Perez” co-star Karla Sofía Gascón and the resurfacing of her past social media posts. 

The actress and singer addressed the situation while attending the 40th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 9.

During the event, Gomez, 32, was asked how she has been handling everything lately. She responded candidly, 

admitting that “some of the magic has disappeared” but emphasized her continued pride in her work. 

“I choose to continue to be proud of what I’ve done, and I’m just grateful,” she shared. 

The Golden Globe-nominated star added, “I live with no regrets, and I would do this movie over and over again if I could.”

The controversy stems from a series of past social media posts attributed to Gascón, 52, which recently resurfaced. The posts, which include criticism of Muslim culture and comments about George Floyd, have drawn significant backlash. She also defended herself against accusations of racism, maintaining that she has never spoken negatively about her co-star. “I have never said anything about my partner. I would never refer to her that way,” Gascón insisted.
